About Dr. Nancy Jonker

In 2016, I closed my private practice and began work as an Executive Coach/Consultant using the best principles psychology has to offer. Some of my clients refer to me as their business therapist for executives and leadership teams.

Here’s the backstory: I've always been fascinated by people and have wanted to understand why they behave as they do. For example, what gets in the way of them having what they most want? And what are the tensions between people that drive them apart when so much is at stake?

I used my PhD in clinical psychology (1989) in my private practice with the aim of making people's lives better. When people are ready to change, they should know that change is possible and have the right kind of support to make it tangible.

After working as a therapist for almost 30 years, I saw a growing need for businesses to implement and share new principles from psychology that could improve the wellbeing of their leaders and teams.

I saw many Visionary Leaders (who frequently were told they had Attention Deficit Disorder!), owners or members in a Family Business, and Partners in a business where the partnership was no longer working.

  • These leaders and family business owners also needed the best of what psychology could offer in order to:

    • sort out and effectively manage conflict,

    • bear the responsibilities of leadership and decision making, and

    • navigate the sea of change.

Now I work with leaders and their teams to bring out the best in themselves and each other as they create value in and through the company for their whole variety of stakeholders - including families and communities.

I do this using Positive Psychology, Behavioral Design, Neuroscience, Systemic Team Coaching and more.
