SERVICES FOR LEADERS
Optimize Your Leadership Performance
Sharpen decision-making, inspire action, and drive results.
The Visionary Leader's Dilemma
Visionary leaders are naturally innovative and full of good ideas. So full of good ideas and viable opportunities it can be hard to sort out priorities and make decisions.
You're drowning in your own success when:
You have so many transformative ideas that deciding where to focus becomes paralyzing.
Endless demands leave you unclear about your own priorities.
You burn through time and energy that should go toward your priorities.
Visionary leaders also become so occupied with running the business and supporting their people that they lose sight of their own quality of life. They don't notice how carrying the business on their shoulders is destroying their stress levels, health, and most important relationships.
The exhausting cycle:
You feel uncertain about how to get real responsiveness from your team.
You respond by working harder, taking on more, and lowering expectations of others.
You become the hub connecting team members and smoothing out conflict.
Your health, relationships, and personal time disappear under the weight of these responsibilities.
Reclaim Your Vision, Your Time, and Your Life
Using my background in psychology, I help visionary leaders who feel trapped between their big dreams and the daily grind that's consuming their lives.
Focus on Your Unleveraged 5%
Patrick Lencioni writes in The Five Temptations of a CEO that even when leaders are 95% effective, focusing on that crucial "unleveraged 5%" creates exponential impact.
For visionary leaders, this often means addressing the internal patterns that keep them stuck in overwhelm rather than operating from their zone of genius.
Leveraging all your talent and skills requires building:
Self-awareness to recognize when you're operating from urgency instead of vision
Clarity to distinguish between what only you can do versus what you're doing because the right people and systems aren’t in place
Strategic thinking to transform your leadership team from a source of drain into a source of energy
Leaders at Full Capacity Can:
✓ Direct their time and energy on goals with the highest impact.
✓ Consider unpopular but necessary actions without second-guessing.
✓ Initiate hard conversations to address misalignments with people.

Frequently Asked Questions by Visionaries/CEOs
-
I provide a sounding board, reflect things back to you, and add my trained insights, so that you can get clarity and devise a plan of attack much more quickly than you would be able to on your own. This work actually saves you time. Many leaders have reported saving up to 10 hours a week. And there’s usually an accompanying boost in energy as well.
-
Leaders who feel responsible for their company and team often struggle to get what they need. In fact, it’s typical for them to take on even more. Engaging in this process is like putting your own oxygen mask on first. When you get clarity and can function at your best, you’re in a much better position to help your company.
-
I’ve learned to expect noticeable results within the first call or two. There should be, at the very least, a transfer of hope — which is having a goal, multiple strategies to achieve that goal, and a sense of agency. Though ultimately we’re striving for long-term changes — which take 6 -12 months, you should expect to see short term gains to build on within 30 days.
-
Because my work is highly customized to each client, it can look a variety of ways. The common structure is to start with a customization process involving 1:1 calls or meetings + strengths assessments for you (and sometimes your team to understand talents and work styles). Then we select the right tools and process for the goals we want to achieve and determine what best serves you the leader in terms of frequency, scope, and most effective strategy.
Then we implement. Generally this focuses on 1:1 scheduled meetings with ‘as needed’ calls or texts in between to enable you to make pivots in real time. If it makes sense to widen the scope to additional team members we’ll do so.
-
Many upper level leaders benefit from discovering how to magnify their influence, demonstrate executive presence, and troubleshoot the myriad of people issues that come up on a daily basis. I often support additional C-suite executives in their development of an adaptive leadership style and ability to make sound decisions consistently.

“Nancy is a compassionate, caring, insightful person, first. A coach second. She is real and authentic with a ton of knowledge to share.”
— Tim Walker, The Experia Group
"Within just the first two sessions of working with Dr. Nancy, I learned things that justified my investment for the entire year.”
— Tom Ruggiero, Esq.
"Nancy definitely helped clear away all the different things I was trying to do and get to my purpose."
— Matt Elledge, Senior Deputy Director, Veterans Affairs
What factors contribute to your ROI?
Significant Time Savings. When leaders optimize their own performance and gain clarity on priorities, they’re able to stay out of overwhelm and have clear energy and attention for the things that matter.
More Effective Team Work. When leaders consistently handle people issues without being in the middle (moving out of a hub-spoke relationship with the team) less of their time is spent in troubleshooting team issues. As communication channels are opened between team members, teams are in a better position to provide support, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
More Competent Performance from Employees. As leaders develop even greater competence in initiating difficult conversations, expectations are clarified and maintained allowing for more attention on results.
Consistently Better Decisions. Leaders who are supported, have good sounding boards and a clear mind, and are confident they’re hearing the candid viewpoints of their team from the start (often from a variety of perspectives) can confidently move forward with business decisions.

“I spent 75 minutes with Nancy and it was like a light bulb went off. It has completely changed how I move forward with achieving my goals.”
— Liz Wiltsie, Future Proof Skills Lab
“We worked with Nancy for a year and got clear about who our ideal clients are, streamlined our business offerings and took away all kinds of roadblocks.”
— Urvi Mehta, Co-Owner of Clients Online
“Within one year with Nancy as my small business coach, I excelled in ways I had previously been unable to do on my own. I highly recommend Nancy Jonker, PhD as a coach.”
— Elaine Dalcher, Artist
MY APPROACH
How I Work
I help visionary leaders get clear on their top priorities and reclaim the time, energy, and focus they’ve lost to the demands of the business. With that clarity, they lead more intentionally, inspire their teams, and address underlying issues so both their leadership and their life work better.
-
Everything starts with a conversation. It’s free, confidential, and practical and there’s no commitment to move forward. I listen to your situation, give you some insights about what might be going on, and suggest the next most practical step. If it sounds like it’s a good fit for us to work together, we’ll talk about what that might look like for your particular situation.
-
This planning phase can span up to 30 days as we talk more in-depth about your and the company’s needs as well as opportunities for growth.
Because it’s often the case that leaders don’t know exactly where or what the trouble is, nor the best approach to solve it, I typically engage a discovery process where I conduct interviews, do strengths assessments, and outline a strategy for accomplishing prioritized goals.
I then use the insights gained through interviews and assessment data to create the most effective and efficient plan.
-
With your co-created strategy in hand, we focus on helping you—the leader—translate vision into results while strengthening the leadership skills that matter most: clarifying priorities, managing time, energy, and attention, and leading with intention.
This phase often includes:
1:1 Leadership Development Meetings – sharpen your decision-making, refine communication, and strengthen leadership presence.
Leadership Team Engagement – participate alongside your team in structured sessions that build alignment and accelerate execution.
Strategic Check-Ins – stay on track through targeted conversations that keep priorities clear and progress visible.
Facilitated Conversations – resolve misalignment or friction between leaders or team members so collaboration improves.
On-Call Guidance – be able to tap into expert support when quick decisions or delicate situations require immediate clarity.
-
We track your progress and the team’s progress through:
Leader growth metrics – measuring improvements in key leadership competencies such as focus, influence, and execution.
Team performance indicators – such as meeting critical deadlines, improving responsiveness to customers, and accelerating pace without sacrificing quality.

“Nancy has a firm grasp on the work so when her intuition is combined with tactical steps, its awesome. She helped me to see blind spots and successes in my own development/growth.”
— Entrepreneur
"Nancy listened and heard what I wasn't saying. Then played it back to me or asked me a question that got me to think or come to a realization."
— L & D Executive
“Nancy helped me uncover layers of limiting beliefs that I wasn't able to see. The biggest impact was on my mindset. By addressing that, I believe I was able to move forward and take more action than I would have otherwise.”
— Entrepreneur
What You Can Expect
-
Get To The Root of the Issue To Create A New Path Forward
If your company is held back by communication or people issues, it won’t change by itself.
Issues get worse until they reach a breaking point, unless you take charge of actually addressing them. Working on adjacent issues such as business strategy or general leadership is valuable but won’t fix the underlying issues.
-
Save Time By Building Skills ‘On the Job’
Develop team skills while striving toward your most important business outcomes.
You don’t need to learn skills and later try to apply them to what you do. Rather, you and your team work on your actual questions under expert guidance, so you reach better decisions faster. We illuminate roadblocks that need to be cleared, and shift them in real time. -
Use Business Metrics To Track Progress With Teams
“That which is measured improves.”
~ Karl PearsonGoals such as team health are great, but they’re often too abstract. Instead, we aim for clear, measurable goals such as faster, more consistent implementation of plans and faster revenue growth. Abstract goals can distract from your main focus.

This 3rd generation owner and CEO — we’ll call him ‘Chad’ — was an enthusiastic, talented, hard-working leader who was struggling with both business challenges and conflict in his leadership team.
At the helm, Chad had overseen growth of the company to five times its revenue when he took over, but market changing conditions were now requiring the company to adapt and meet new challenges: rigorous safety standards, changing methods, and new technology.
Conflicts within the leadership team interfered with their ability to make decisions and get things done. At times, conflict would thoroughly disrupt the team, requiring Chad to spend hours of his time helping team members rebuild bridges and restore communication. Chad knew he was not leading at his best and wanted to sharpen his leadership skills.
-
In this case we chose to start with Chad — helping him optimize that unleveraged 5-20% of his leadership capacity (Patrick Lencioni, Five Temptations of A CEO, 2006). As Chad enhanced his own functioning again, he was able to:
Get clarity about his priorities as CEO.
Lead with whatever style of leadership was required by the situation (Daniel Goleman, Leadership That Gets Results, 2017, Harvard Business Review Classics).
Successfully navigate difficult conversations that were necessary to improve performance.
Set better boundaries for himself to avoid overwhelm and burnout.
Provide clear direction for the team so they could tackle new markets and innovative ways of doing business in a challenging business environment.
The work with Chad was so effective, it transitioned naturally into supporting other leaders of the team — using both Systemic Team Coaching for the leadership team and Leadership Development for key leaders. Getting people into the right seats to leverage their talents was a large part of their success.
-
Chad was able to set clear priorities for himself, make good decisions more quickly, and initiate difficult conversations with his team to achieve better results. The team reported the ability to have conversations that stay productive even when there’s disagreement.
We used business metrics to track progress at the leader and team level. Certain key metrics improved dramatically such as strengthening adaptability skills, meeting deadlines, maintaining rigorous safety standards, and increasing revenue through new market contracts.
During your free consultation call, we’ll discuss the particulars of your situation. This includes:
your experience as a leader / owner in the company
trouble areas you’re seeing in the team/company and what you think is going on
what you’ve tried in the past to solve them
the next practical step(s) to take
if it seems there may be a good fit for us to work together, we’ll talk about what that would look like
